The process involves using a fine-grit sandpaper to gently sand the surface of the paint while keeping it wet with water or a lubricant to prevent damage. Wet sanding is a delicate process that requires a skilled hand to avoid causing further damage to the vehicle's finish, but when done correctly, it can produce impressive results.
